  肖刚,中共党员,工学博士,教授,浙江大学求是青年学者。2001年7月获武汉大学学士学位,2006年6月获浙江大学博士学位。2006年6月进入东南大学工作,2008年4月晋升副教授,2009年-2010年赴加拿大大不列颠哥伦比亚大学(UBC)访问进修,2010年11月调入浙江大学,任副教授,2014年12月晋升为教授。
  一直从事太阳能热发电与高效利用、高温集热储热和先进的热功转换等方面的教学和科研工作。主持国家重点研发计划项目1项、国家自然科学基金4项、国家科技支撑项目子课题1项、科技部国际合作项目子课题1项、973项目子课题1项、教育部博士点基金新教师项目1项、教育部留学回国人员科研启动基金1项、浙江省自然科学基金1项、浙江省公益性技术应用研究计划项目1项等。第一/通讯作者发表SCI论文40余篇(近5年30余篇),发表的SCI论文近五年来他引800多次。授权国际专利2件(日本2件、澳大利亚1件,排名第一),授权中国发明专利40多件(其中排名第一30多件);获得软件著作权6件(排名第一)。
  指导本科生团队参加“全国大学生节能减排大赛”获特等奖;指导本科生团队获得“国家级大学生创新创业训练计划项目”2项;获得浙江大学2015届百篇特优本科生毕业论文(设计)指导老师称号。指导/协助指导的研究生中,三名获得国家奖学金;两名获得浙江大学优秀毕业研究生称号。
  兼任中国电机工程学会第一届太阳能热发电专委会委员、火力发电专委会第一届新能源学组委员、中国内燃机学会特种发动机专委会委员。受邀作为“波兰国家自然科学基金”通讯评委(Invitation to review grant proposal for the National Science Center of Poland,2015);受邀南非国家研究基金会通讯评委(South Africa's National Research Foundation,2016)。

Professor Gang Xiao
Background
Professor Xiao obtained BSc in Thermal Power Engineering from Wuhan University of China in 2001, PhD in Engineering Thermophysics from Zhejiang University of China in 2006.
He joined the School of Energy and Environment of Southeast University in 2006 and became an associate professor in 2008. In 2009, he joined the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering of the University of British Columbia, Canada, as a visiting associate professor. He came back to China in 2010 and joined the College of Energy Engineering of Zhejiang University. He became a full professor at State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization of Zhejiang University in 2014.

Research
His research interests focus on renewable energy technologies, including concentrated solar power (CSP), solar thermal utilization, biomass thermal conversion.
