Guest Profile:
   Wang Zhifeng is a researcher of the Institute of Plasma Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a doctoral supervisor. He obtained the bachelor's degree in inorganic nonmetallic material science from School of Materials Science and Engineering of Wuhan University of Technology in 1985, the master's degree in inorganic nonmetallic material science from School of Materials Science and Engineering of Wuhan University of Technology in 1990, and the doctor's degree in engineering thermal physics from Tsinghua University in 1993. He is also included in the "Hundred Talents Program" of CAS, the first national "Ten Thousand Talent Program" and the first distinguished core backbone researchers of CAS.
   His research fields include solar-thermal power generation technology and solar building technology. He has been devoted himself to design of solar-thermal power systems, heat transfer and flow in solar heating systems, coupling design of concentrating and heat absorption systems, thermal performance evaluation theories of solar collectors, etc. He has also presided over the preparation of 2 national standards, published over 190 papers including 55 SCI papers, and applied for 98 patents for invention.
   He has led the research, design, construction, commissioning and operation of the experimental solar-thermal power plant in Badaling, Beijing.
   He has put forward core scientific questions about unsteady photo-thermal power process coupling during solar-thermal power generation, won support of the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program). Six sub-projects of the project have been rated as excellent and passed the final measurement.
   The research describes the development roadmap of solar-thermal power generation technology in China.
   He has proposed to build a zero-carbon Olympic Zone in Chongli County, Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province for 2022 Winter Olympic Games, solve the route issue of building heating technology of Chongli through inter-time solar heat collection/storage. This proposal was published in the 2015 Olympics bid report, and approved by the State Council in July 2015 to set Chongli "Low-Carbon Olympic Zone".
