Notice on Academic Lecture Delivered by Professor Tomas K?berger, a Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences
  
  Funded by "111" Program, Tomas K?berger, a professor of Chalmers University of Technology, former Director General of the National Swedish Energy Agency, and Director of Industrial Investment Fund Committee of Japan Renewable Energy Institute is invited to visit the Institute for Thermal Power Engineering, Zhejiang University from October 10, 2017. As a fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, Professor Tomas K?berger has serve as the chairman of international renewable resource conferences several times. He is very influential and has recently published in Nature an article titled "Energy policy: Push renewables to spur carbon pricing" as a co-author. During his visit, two academic lectures will be delivered. Welcome every interested one to come!

  Title: Global Energy Trends
  In the last two years there has been a significant fall in the costs for electricity from renewables and batteries. This will have effects on global energy markets and the energy and transport industries. Trends will be presented and future scenarios discussed.

  Title: Future Fuels
  While electricity and batteries are gaining competitiveness by reduced costs, demand for liquid as gaseous fuels will decrease. What are possible strategies to make biofuels competitive? Some ideas will be presented and hopefully more discussed with you.
